We buy our fashion online, get our fashion news online, talk about fashion online and now you can visit the first virtual fashion museum thanks to Valentino.
The international fashion house have created a downloadable 3D palazzo with over 5000 articles, videos, pictures and timelines available to peruse at your leisure, just as you would in a museum, from your computer.
It only takes five minutes to install but visitors will be engaged for hours as they discover the history of the brand, its iconic pieces and the celebrities who have worn them, available to come back to at any time you want.
Over 300 gowns can be viewed up close and in 360° as you click your way around the exhibition rooms.
Particular favourite features include 165 original fashion illustrations in the Library, the Muses & Friends room showing stars such as Joan Collins, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Tom Hanks in their Valentino couture garments and Maison Valentino reveals a video of the shows and photo shoots from the brand today.
Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman spoke at the launch of the virtual museum at the Museum of Modern Art in New York this week.
Hugh Jackman described the platform as a “gift” to the public and in particular fashion students while Anne Hathaway told the press conference: “The Valentino family has created something that has never existed before - a virtual museum that will change art, the art world and how we experience both forever”.
