New York Fashion Week names to watch

Negarin emerging fashion label New York Fashion Week
Negarin spring/summer 12 collection

New York Fashion Week begins today and while Cynthia Rowley, BCBG Max Azria and TSE are the big names showing today, as usual, we’ve got our eye on some of the more obscure New York labels.

GenArt’s New Garde show takes place today, showcasing three emerging designers in an exciting catwalk with model and DJ Harley Viera-Newton providing the music. Whitney Port will also be in attendance to announce the winner of the Crest 3D White ‘Little White Wardrobe’ winner. Gemma Kahng, Samantha Pleet and William Okpo will be the designers following in the footsteps Zac Posen, Phillip Lim and Rodarte who have all showcased with GenArt in the past.

A name to watch later in the week, Negarin, will show their second collection on Monday after a successful launch in London last season. We’re predicting big things for the label who design for the jet setting businesswoman. As an international businesswoman herself, working in both finance and fashion, we’re confident that the autumn/ winter 12 collection will be just the ticket for our stylish work excursions. Erin O’Connor, fashion editor Hilary Alexander and top stylist Grace Woodward are already fans.

As the week goes on we’ll be highlighting more up-and-coming talent from America and showing you how to get your Fashion Week look from our New York designers Kristi Vosbeck, Elly Clay, Marla Cielo and Norma Ishak.
