Fashion Awareness Direct celebrated 10 years of helping young people through fashion education last night.
The charity has worked with over 8,000 young people from different backgrounds since it started and has had support from top fashion industry experts including David Koma and Vauxhall Fashion Scout founder Martyn Roberts.
The show last night, held as part of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s London Fashion Week schedule, included the designs of the current competition winners who displayed unbelievable skill for their age and those of previous FAD finalists who have gone on to postgraduate study in fashion or top jobs in the industry.
It was followed by a charity auction which raised £1,147 for FAD.
FAD works with 13 to 25 year olds to bridge the gap between academia and business. The FAD charity organises workshops, competitions and high profile catwalk events for fashion’s future stars and Vogue has called it “an undeniable springboard” for young talent.
