Jenny said, “As a young girl I was regularly abandoned in Debenhams Southampton whilst my parents disappeared off to search for the latest Teasmade or some other ‘must have’ electrical appliance. During this time I lost myself in the rails of 70’s polyester and dreamt of a line in fashion.
“Therefore it is only natural that I have chosen Debenhams to launch my first High Street collection.
“My aim always is to design styles that create glamour and excitement whether it is for the red carpet or a teenage prm.
“My collaboration with Debenhams is a great opportunity for me to offer my signature style at an attainable price.”
Jenny Packham will join designers such as Matthew Williamson, Julien MacDonald, Jonathan Saunders and Roksanda Ilincic who have also created capsule collections for the retailer.
With the luxury brand known for having an elite fan base, Packham’s purse friendly pieces are sure to be a hit with price-conscious shoppers. Stars such as Keira Knightley, Beyonce, Rihanna and Cameron Diaz have been spotted in Packham’s gowns and last year The Duchess of Cambridge chose to wear the designer on three separate occasions, the most memorable of which no doubt being the shimmering gown she wore to the ARK charity gala (pictured above)

Livia Firth in her eco-chic Giorgio Armani gown, which she wore to Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony.
The designers have joined a host of other fashion houses, including Chanel, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent to create eco-friendly dresses for Colin Firth’s wife to wear on the red carpet throughout awards season.
For each awards ceremony (from the Baftas to the Oscars) there will be an actress who will also be wearing one of the ‘green’ gowns.
Livia said of The Challenge; “Over the last three years, The Green Carpet Challenge has become an all consuming passion of mine. This part of the fashion landscape is so exciting because it is genuinely revolutionary and relentlessly positive. It is absolutely the right time to take the challenge up a gear so we are working with our favourite world class designers and actors as GCC ambassadors.”
“Fashion is a brilliant communicator. The fashion we communicate through the GCC promotes social justice, environmental integrity and the very best in design.”
Tom Ford said; “Livia is a close friend and I am thrilled to be working with her on her Green Carpet Challenge, a cause very close to her heart.”
“Sustainable luxury has been at the core of Tom Ford from the onset of the brand, and I am looking forward to creating an iconic red carpet dress that is not only beautifully made, but also ethically made.”
Giorgio Armani launched The Challenge this year, creating the stunning gown that Livia wore to Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony. He commented; “Livia’s enthusiasm and dedication to this cause has been very inspiring for me. Awareness for the environment is a topic that’s very important for us all: we cannot avoid it.”
The dress was created using fibres from the recycling of households in Northern Italy, and described by Roberta Armani as “created from a special fabric made with fibres derived from the mechanical, non-chemical recycling of plastic bottles”
Paul Smith, Valentino, Roger Vivier and Alberta Ferretti will also creates sustainable, ethical pieces from Livia to wear.
Gucci’s Frida Giannini, who is also taking part said: “Livia’s passion for the mission of this project is infectious.”
“We all have a collective responsibility towards future generations to minimise our impact on the environment and through this initiative we can hopefully show that you don’t have to make any compromises in design and creativity when working with environmentally friendly materials.”

It is difficult to establish which came first, the announcement that Baz Luhrmann was to remake The Great Gatsby, or the fashionable swing towards the fabulous style of the era, either way, it is hard not to enjoy this glamorous revival.
With reports last year that the films cast were being supplied with one off pieces from Tiffany & Co as well as rumours that Ashley Olsen, one half of the very stylish Olsen twins, had loaned her personal collection of vintage dresses to the film, fashion fans are eagerly anticipating the films release. If the stills which have been released so far are anything to go by, we will not be disappointed, as the vintage dresses and sparkling Tiffany jewels make up a truly beautiful film wardrobe. Images from the film set show actress Carey Mulligan, who plays Daisy Buchanan, wearing beaded chiffon dresses accessorised with strings of pearls, diamond head pieces, jewel encrusted rings and fur.
Though we will have to make do with glimpses such as these until the film is released in December, the twenties influence has taken hold of the fashion industry, having featured heavily in spring and summer 2012 collections from designers such as Ralph Lauren, (who previously designed costumes for The Great Gatsby in 1974 starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow) and quickly filtered down to the high-street, meaning that it has never been easier to add some twenties style to your wardrobe.
This style is perfect for evening wear, with tasselled trims, beading and feathers creating a luxurious look. By day, a drop waist dress in a pretty floral print is the easiest way to create the fun silhouette associated with the era, or you could opt for pyjama soft silk and cashmere. Be sure to accessorise your look with pearls, raffia, t-bar sandals and delicate scarves.

This is the time for elbowing through crowds of shoppers, in a bid to secure the best bargains to fill our wardrobes for the year ahead. Though while you are in the midst of the shopping madness, it is important to keep in mind that not every purchase you make will be a bargain. How often do we buy things during the sales, which will never leave our wardrobes? Have you been rummaging through drawers recently to find items that still have their labels attached?
There are some key pieces to look out for in the sales this year, which are sure to become your future favourites, featuring in outfits time and time again in the months to come. Here is a quick guide on what to buy, and what to steer clear of during the sales this month.
Switch 1940s for 1950s.
Though Miuccia Prada’s tea dresses at Miu Miu were a big hit on the catwalks and the high street this winter, spring/summer sees her revive the 1950s, and where she goes, it seems the rest of us follow. So if you spot lady like full skirts, fitted cardigans or jumpers on the rails, lift them.
Swap jewel tones for pretty pastels
In line with the 50s trend will be girly colours such as pistachio, lilac or lemon, replacing the heavier tones of emerald, citrine and topaz which dominated winter clothing.
Florals
Floral is one print that seems to never go out of style. Designers such as Raf Simmons, Celine and Peter Pilotto featured florals heavily in their spring/summer collections, proving their enduring popularity.
Collars
Peter Pan collars, inspired by Louis Vuitton, can give even the most simple top a ‘wow’ factor. The fashion house is set to continue the trend, updating it for spring/summer with a pretty Broderie Anglaise versions (such as that seen above).
Short Suits
Short suits provided a playful alternative to workwear during autumn/winter. This trend will continue in spring/summer, but this time in lighter shades.

As confirmed on GraziaDaily by Royal etiquette expert Jean Broke-Smith, Kate will wear;
"A casual outfit for breakfast, a smart outfit - and hat - for the morning Church service, a dress for lunch, a cocktail dress for early evening drinks, and a full length dress for the evening meal. The golded rule is nothing too short, too revealing or too gaudy."
Kate is yet to make a sartorial mistake, and though we only saw one of her five outfit options, it gave a good indication that she is unlikely to take a step in the wrong direction when it comes to the rest of her Christmas clothing choices.
She teamed a beautiful berry coat with a hat by millner Jane Corbett, who is a firm favourite of the Middleton family, having also designed the hat which Carole Middleton wore to her daughter's wedding in April.
The gorgeous diamond earrings are by Kiki McDonough and are thought to be a gift from Prince William (lucky lady!)

When the rumours began that Alice Dellal was set to be the new face of Chanel , many were surprised. Could the star, who is known for her love of teaming fishnets with Dr Marten boots really be the new muse for the timeless and sophisticated brand?
It seems that the answer is yes. The fashion house has confirmed that the model is indeed is the face of the Boy Chanel handbag collection.
“[Karl Lagerfeld] had a crush on this unique, charismatic young lady, who is both a model and musician, during a photo shoot several months ago,” stated Chanel. “This previously unforeseen alliance finally became self-evident. Alice Dellal represents the perfect incarnation of all that is unique about the Boy Chanel handbag collection, which strives [to be] far from conformist notions of femininity.” Chanel told WWD
Ms Dellal could certainly not be accused of being conventional. As well as sporting her punk-rock inspired look, the 24 year old is a drummer in a band called Thrush Metal and can often be found at London parties with her friend Pixie Geldof. Though she could not be more different from the current face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle range, Blake Lively, Karl Lagerfeld is known for having an eclectic taste, having previously chosen Lily Allen to be the face of the Cocoon range back in 2009. Alice’s androgynous look will her the perfect representative for the Boy collection, and will also make for a refreshing change to the classic Chanel brand.
Photographic evidence has come from WWD. The sneak peak shows the campaign being shot by Lagerfeld, and Ms Dellal is sporting a lady-like cardigan and bow in her plaited hair. Her trademark edgy look is still in place, with black eye liner and red lipstick in place. Perched on a dressing table in a gorgeous Haussmannian apartment whilst clutching a grey quilted bag from the collection, if images like this one are anything to go by, Ms Dellal has been a surprisingly perfect fit for Chanel!

Though the rest of us are wrapped up in our winter layers, battling through the wind and rain and preparing for snow, the world of fashion has turned it's thoughts to their Spring/Summer 2012 collections, and who should front them.
It has emerged this morning that model and front row favourite Alice Dellal has been chosen to be the new face of a Chanel advertising campaign.
The 24 year old, who is instantly recognisable thanks to her signature undercut, has become a firm fixture on the London social scene and when she is not modelling for labels such as Ermanno Scervine, she plays drums in her band Thrush Metal.

Though her usual outfits, consisting of ripped fishnets, denim cut-offs and biker jackets, may not immeadiately place her as the most obvious poster-girl for Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld will no doubt be taken by her mix of individulaity and affluency - her grandfather, Jack, is a property tycoon said to be worth £500 million.
Lagerfeld is known for picking an eclectic cast of faces for Chanel, having recently chosen Blake Lively to front the Mademoiselle handbag range, while Lily Allen modelled sunglasses as well as the Cocoon range.
If the rumours are true then Tellusfashion can't wait to see how the next Chanel campaign will turn out.
