Amisu Fashion - New Yorker

Guest Blogger
Today, I decided to share one of my favorite stores and the collection that I adore a lot. It has to be 'Amisu' brand from NewYorker. The best part about this store is you get a great variation in clothes. The styles and colours featured from the store are really gorgeous. The fun colours of pink and pastels to the bright neons and blues skirts, Ive come across really make this a great place to visit and buy lovely clothes. One of my favorite types of dresses are maxi's. The simple reason is they look so stylish and make you look really good.

Here is my look featured with one of the Amisu dresses from New Yorker :) Hope you like it. I wore it to one of my trips to Spain. I really enjoyed my trip and the weather is Spain was great. Summer and breezy allowed me to wear the maxi dress and take advantage of the day. Hope you like my look below!

The photos are from New Yorker and Fashionista Era sites.

Animal Rings

Guest Blogger

The wise old owl lived in an oak

The more he saw the less he spoke

The less he spoke the more he heard

Why can’t we be like that wise old bird?

This blog stemmed from receiving a generous goody bag from MeeMee.me for winning their bloggers face off competition. In the goody bag was this pretty owl ring which I just love and has started an obsession of mine with animal rings (especially owls). The owl is one of the most important and characteristic Greek symbol of wisdom and we all know the saying, ‘as wise as an owl’.

Animal rings are still big this season so I found myself researching them in a big way and here are my favourite out there at the moment:

Out and about with Dvora from Fashionistable part 3

Christina Holmes is a stylist. I saw her walking in front of me and loved the cut of her coat. When I saw the front I was blown away. The coat is by Peter Pilotto, her dress is by Louise Gray I love how she has worked the levels of the garments with this look. Her bag is by Sophie Hulme and her Converse are from the Commes des Garcons collaboration. Christina's favourite place in London is Clerkenwell and her surprise was that she really likes cats. When I asked how many hse has she said for now only one but would love more.

Zipeng Li was just so bright and colourful I couldnt resist stopping him. He is originally from China from Gangzhou and has been studying fashion and textiles in the UK for the past 6 months. When I asked about his style influence Zipeng told me that today was his 1st use of colour. That previously it used to be high fashion. His favourite place in London is Brick Lane. He loves the markets and the culture. His surprise was that he actually prefers quiteness. Zipeng is wearing a hat he bought online from Tabao. His sweater is vintage, trousers 2%. His shoes were bought in Hong Kong and bag in Morocco.

Tia Thorne works for All Saints and is training to be a visual merchantiser. When she lived in Australia she trained and worked as a hairdresser but found her job less challenging than now. She told me she really loves fashion retail and working in retail. Originally from the sunshine coast she is enjoying being in London. Says it is more fun here, more people, more culture. Her 2 favourite places in London are Bermondsey and the East End. And her surprise for us is that although she is 21 she has already lived away from Australia for 2 years now. Tia is wearing a jacket she bought in Australia, a cardy and T from All Saints, her skirt is vintage, bag Massimo Dutti and shoes Vans.

Brussels Vintage Heaven

Guest Blogger

My mini tour to some of the best vintage shops in Brussels first took me to rue du Midi 64 where I visited 'Burlesque'. You must visit this boutique, it is small but perfectly formed with some extremely exciting finds. Here I found some black patent platform heels that I couldn't leave the shop without. Filled with quality vintage clothes and accessories, it is an Aladdin's cave. I would have bought a Burberry raincoat if they had it in my size. They also had a great collection of boots, handbags and hats. If I lived in Brussels this is the one I would definitely frequent.
The next boutique was 'Ramon & Valy Vintage' on rue des Teinturiers 19. If it is top labels you are after then this luxury vintage boutique is a must. The shop itself is beautifully presented. A little more expensive than the others but what would you expect with clothes by Chanel and Dior. A very beautiful boutique with beautiful vintage clothes. If you are searching for a special something then this is the place to go. This shop would be my guilty pleasure.
The last shop ended my mini tour on a high! 'Gabriele Vintage' on rue des Chartreux 27. Wow! I felt like I had entered the costume department on a movie set. What an amazing shop. I looked at everything and ended up with armfuls of clothes to try on. I bought two silk shirts to wear with jeans, one made by Serge Nancel Paris, the other by Pierre Castanet Paris and a handbag I fell in love with. Gabriele herself was in the shop giving advice to people. Gabriele Wolf comes from Germany and arrived in Brussels as a costume designer before her involvement with vintage clothes made her open her own shop. I left the shop with a big grin on my face, this really was vintage heaven and not to be missed.
So go spend a vintage shopping weekend in Brussels and don’t miss my top three boutiques followed by an ice cold Strawberry beer, you won't be disappointed!

Happy Shopping!

Valentine Fashion gifts for HER

Guest Blogger

I know, it is that time of the year, when you have to start thinking about presents yet again, just after Christmas.
And it is very hard to buy the right present for Valentine's as she might not even pay attention to it, or she could make a total fuss if you dont take her out, full one programe, dinner with candles, present, movie and a massage afterward. Well to cut the story short I came up with some ideas for any budget.
From chocolates to designer bags it sall here. If your girl is a real fashionista she will appreciate these gifts and know what are they about. She thought you dont speak Prada? It's time to surprise her!

Under £100

Godiva Strawberries dipped into chocolate

Flowers mean "Sorry" and chocolates mean "I love you" plus every girl absolutely loves good quality chocolate.
Strawberries are romantic and this box is so luxurious that she can't not adore it.  Share it with a good old Hugh Grant movie.

Lauren Conrad books

Lauren Conrad is classic, she's a girl's girl, has great style and her own reality. She writes books as well, that is all you need to know before you hand her out these books! She will be impressed and surprised, as not many men know about this popular L.A. girl.

YSL Arty Ring

Arty ring is most popular accessorie amongst the fashionistas. If she knows fashio, she will appreciate this gift enormusly much. Make sure you know her size right before you buy it, or sneakily bring one of her rings when buying it, to determine the size.

Miu Miu Bag VItello Lux

This present is absolute luxury, Miu Miu bags are well known and admired by the girls all around the world. VItello bags have a bit of shiny leather finish, and are perfect for every day. If you surprise her with this in the morning, chances are she will cancel all the plans through out the week just to spend it with "the worlds best boyfriend" Make sure you are aware of that potential danger.

Hope that solved your problem after all. And remember, sometimes present is not even important, but it is the way you give it, the way you notice what she likes and the romance for the night.
Hot bubble bath, two glasses of champagne and your favourite song can be better than any present out there.
Good Luck!

Fashion for Spring/Summer 2012

Guest Blogger

Accordng to all of the fashion reports, this summer is going to be in ice cream colours.
Pasteles are well known for their calming effect, but can also make you feel very confident.
It is very important to know how to mix them appropriately, to get the most out of your outfit.
Light yellow, peach, mint, light green, lilac, baby pink, can be combined quite well, and incorporated in any occasion or time of the day.
Some of the campaigns for Spring/Summer 2012 that best describe this years trends are:

So keep an eye on the shop windows, and try not to spend too much, pastel colours can be highly adicctive and its only for this season. Get your statement pieces and stick to them.
Now you can get dressed and look irresistable just like your favourite candy.
Enjoy!
